Cuebase vs Otterly AI

Otterly is a general AI search visibility tool for agencies and marketing teams. Cuebase is a Shopify app that scores and fixes your product catalog as well as tracking mentions. Which one you want depends on whether your problem is measurement or the catalog itself.

How we wrote this

Every statement about Otterly AI below comes from Otterly's own website, checked on 4 August 2026, with sources linked. Products change — see otterly.ai for current details. Where a comparison favours Otterly, we say so.

The short answer

Otterly AI tracks where a brand shows up in AI search. It is positioned for agencies and marketing teams, and it is not ecommerce-specific — Shopify is not mentioned on its features page. It audits your content and recommends improvements.

Cuebase is Shopify-native and closes the loop. It scores each product against an agent-readiness rubric, generates fixes, applies the ones you approve to your store, tracks AI-referred traffic through a Shopify Web Pixel, and measures share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI.

Where Otterly wins on paper

At the same $29 entry price, Otterly's Lite plan tracks 15 prompts across four engines while Cuebase's Starter tracks 10 across three. If raw prompt volume is what you are buying, that is a real difference and you should know it. Cuebase's case is what it does with the result — scoring and fixing the catalog those answers are drawn from — plus a free tier for the readiness work.

Audit and recommend, or actually change it

Otterly's Content Audit reviews structured data and AI readiness factors and gives specific improvements, and its Recommendations feature suggests what to do next. That is genuinely useful. But the implementation is still yours: someone has to open Shopify and rewrite the titles, fill in the categories, add the barcodes and attributes, product by product.

Cuebase does that part. The readiness scan names the exact missing fields per product, drafts values, and writes the approved ones to Shopify through the Admin API. You review every suggestion first — nothing is applied silently.

When Otterly AI is the better choice

  • You are an agency tracking many clients across many websites, not one Shopify catalog.
  • You are not on Shopify, so a Shopify app does not help you.
  • You need a large tracked-prompt volume — Otterly's higher plans go to 100 and 400 prompts.
  • You want brand-level AI search monitoring beyond products, or you already work inside Semrush.

What we will not claim

We will not say Otterly is a weak product — it is a mature tool aimed at a different buyer. We will not claim it cannot do things we simply did not find advertised, and we will not quote figures we could not verify at the source.

And no tool, Cuebase included, can guarantee an AI assistant will recommend your store. AI answers vary between runs, which is why share of voice is best read as a trend across many probes rather than a number to celebrate on any single day.

Common questions

Does Otterly AI have a Shopify app?

We found no Otterly listing on the Shopify App Store as of 4 August 2026. Otterly's own blog describes distribution through the Semrush App Center. Their features page does not mention Shopify.

How much does Otterly AI cost?

Otterly publishes pricing in US dollars: Lite $29 per month, Standard $189 per month, Premium $489 per month, and custom-priced Enterprise. Annual billing is discounted and there is a 7-day free trial. Checked 4 August 2026.

Does Otterly AI fix my product data?

Otterly audits and recommends. Its Content Audit reviews structured data and AI readiness factors and gives specific improvements, and its Recommendations feature suggests what to do next. Making the changes is left to you. Cuebase applies approved fixes to Shopify directly.

When is Otterly AI the better choice?

If you are an agency or marketing team tracking brand visibility across many sites rather than optimizing one Shopify catalog, or you are not on Shopify at all, Otterly is built for that and Cuebase is not.
